If Policyholder or a member of their household clicks on the wrong link, inadvertently navigates infected web pages, or is tricked into opening infected files by malicious text messages or emails, they may become the victim of ransomware. If the Policyholder is a victim of an online attack in which a cybercriminal holds your data, website, computer system, sensitive information or device hostage until you meet their demands, our cyber extortion coverage provides immediate access to advice to help you respond to the threat and, if a payment is made, reimburses you up to the limit on your policy.
If the Policyholder's identity is compromised, the Policy provides coverage for Identity Restoration Costs, such as Legal Fees, Notary Costs, and Lost Wages while trying to address the issues related to the Policyholder's stolen identity. The Policy also provides the Policyholder and household members with ongoing Identity and Credit Monitoring and access to experienced fraud specialists who will work to quickly resolve any crisis and clear up fraud.
The policy will support the Policyholder in responding and remediating cyberattacks that prohibit the policyholder and their family from accessing their home, or Gross Profit Lost from cyber attacks interrupting a small business the policyholder operates from their home.
If the Policyholder or a member of your household is a victim of cyber bullying, the Policy will cover therapy fees, childcare or caregiver expenses, temporary relocation expenses, and digital forensic analysis, which includes the removal of humiliating or harmful online content. If the victim of cyber bullying is a minor who is unable to attend school, the Policy will also cover temporary private tutoring expenses, unreimbursed tuition or the increase in tuition to relocate the minor to another school. If a member of the household under the age of 18 is accused of cyber bullying, the Policy will cover a digital forensic analysis of the event, remove any humiliating or harmful online content, and provide the PolicyHolder with Reputational Harm Coverage, covering costs for reputation management efforts, including public relations, crisis communication, and personal brand rehabilitation.
Criminals can steal money through a variety of cyber crime schemes, such as stealing your passwords or personal credentials to take money directly from your bank account or to submit fraudulent wire transfer requests to your bank. Examples include social engineering, unauthorized wire transfer or payment, forgery or alteration of checks, acceptance of counterfeit money, identity fraud and theft of cryptocurrency. The Policy provides protection against loss of account funds from a cyber-attack and related expenses.
The Policy provides coverage to the Policyholder and household members for allegations of unintentional online libel, slander or invasion of privacy.
